Trunk Show

She will present a trunk show of her work on Thursday evening, September 5th. Lakota Freshman School 5050 Tylersville Road West Chester, Ohio 45069. Doors will open at 6.00 p.m. for Members and 6:30 for Non-members.

On Friday, the 6th, she will present two half-day workshops titled “Shape by Shape”. With Shape by Shape you will learn different patterns you can use to fill the shapes on your quilt.
The morning workshop will be an instructional lecture, no sewing machine required but you probably want to bring a notebook or sketchpad. Instructional lecture workshops are limited to 100 students.

For the afternoon workshop we will use our sewing machines to try our hand at her techniques. Hands-on workshops are limited to 25 students.

Supply List for 3 hour Hands-on Class

Thank you so much for taking my class. I can’t wait to spend the day (or
evening) trying to help you love machine quilting as much as I do. If you are
nervous at all, don’t be! The class atmosphere will be very encouraging and lots
of fun, no matter where you are in your free-motion quilting journey.
Below you will find the supplies to need to make the class as successful as
possible. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via
email: angelawaltersquilting@gmail.com.
Happy Quilting! Angela Walters

Required Supplies
Sewing Machine- Any type of machine will work, just be sure that it has the
ability to drop the feed dogs. If you aren’t sure, please refer to the owners
manual.
Free-motion Quilting Foot- any type of Free-motion quilting foot will
work (i.e. Open toed or clear plastic). If you’re unsure if you have one, check
your owners manual or contact the manufacturer.
Quilt sandwiches for practice- 2-4 Fat quarter sized sandwiches will work
(although they can be any size you prefer) Or if you are feeling adventurous,
you can use some unquilted orphan blocks or a small quilt top. They can be
basted in any method you prefer, such as with pins, fusible batting or fusible
spray. Small quilt sandwiches can even be left unbasted if you want. The most
important thing is that you have something to practice on.
Thread and scissors- To make the machine quilting process easier, use
quality thread made for machine quilting. My favorites are Superior So Fine and
Aurifil (both 50wt), but you can bring any type you like. A thread color that
contrasts with your practice quilt sandwiches will allow you to see your quilting.
Optional Supplies: These aren’t necessary, but if you already own them,
bring them with you!
-Supreme slider
-Free-motion quilting gloves
-Extended base for your machine
-Camera (to take pictures of quilted samples)
-Paper and Pencil- Each class includes handouts free of charge, but if you think
you might want more room for drawing, bring a notebook.
