Surface Design: Screen Printing with a Dash of Discharge
In this workshop you will make a “one of a kind” creation starting by creating your own unique fabric. You’ll start in the morning screen printing with thickened dye, stamp printing and discharging resulting in unique hand designed fabric.
In the afternoon you’ll cut up the fabric using patterns we’ll provide and create one large square or four small ones to sew together.
Supply fee $15 to cover dyes, screens, squeegees, bleach gel, patterns
Supply list: 2 large water containers (cottage cheese size), roll paper towels, 3 Styrofoam meat trays, old bath towel, 8 plastic spoons, 6 small plastic containers (yogurt size), paper scissors, skinny permanent marker, 6- 12” squares white cotton fabric, (best is white on white), 6- 12” squares of batik fabric, hair dryer, six stamps if you have them. Apron, wear old clothes.
