Introducing Rock Around the Block, the vibrant and captivating quilt created without a template!
Rock Around the Block is based on the traditional Jack’s Chain block. Nancy worked out the math so you can construct this block with NO Y seams! Use fat quarters to create your cute 9-patch blocks, add the side triangles and the block is finished before you know it! The secondary block (churn dash or shoo fly block) is optional along with the sashing & cornerstones. Choose your background fabric, white, gray, black, any color to make the 9-patches pop!
Cutting homework to be completed before class. Class preparation information provided once you are registered.
• Fabric: 6 Fat Quarters – assortment of colors/prints. For a scrappier look use 15 Fat Eights. These are for the Nine Patches.
• 1 Fat Quarter: Red
• White (light fabric) solid: 4-1/2 yards
• Ruler to bring to class: 12 ½” x 12 ½” square, 6 ½” x 6 ½”
• Fabric marking pen
• All basic sewing supplies
• Spray Starch
• Optional: Revolving cutting mat
This workshop is $50.00 for members. Non-members will be required to pay an additional $10.00 non-member fee. Pattern purchase $8.00 at the time of class.
